- The MPSE offers four levels of membership via application: Active, Associate, Affiliate, and Student.
Full details on eligibility, qualifications, and rights are outlined under Article III (page 6) in the By-laws. Article IV Outlines Terms of Membership. By submitting an application you agree that you have read the MPSE By-laws and understand that your membership is subject to approval by the Membership Committee and the Board of Directors.
The minimum requirement for Active membership is three (3) years experience as a sound editor who has made, in the judgement of the board of directors, an outstanding contribution to their field of endeavor.
The requirement for Affiliate membership is experience in sound or music editing, but not as an editor. This is a non-voting membership that includes, but is not limited to, assistant sound editors, librarians, recordists, production mixers, re-recording mixers, managers, and facility administrators.
Payment of MPSE membership dues does not qualify as a charitable donation and is not tax deductible.
